Geoffrey “Buck” Buchanan brings over 27 years of distinguished military service and leadership to his role as Director of Government Programs at Product Knowledge. A retired Colonel from the United States Army and Army National Guard, Buck has built a career marked by strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to advancing national security.
Throughout his career, Buck has demonstrated exceptional expertise in strategic planning, operations, readiness, training, and policy development. His experience includes leading high- impact initiatives, such as directing a $1.8 billion budget to enhance readiness for 343,000 personnel and managing the Army National Guard’s largest training division, encompassing live, virtual, and simulated environments across 54 states and territories. As Director of Learning and Development at the National Guard Bureau, he supervised the creation of training programs that significantly improved workforce effectiveness.
Buck’s leadership extends to international operations, having served as Deputy Director for National Guard Affairs, where he coordinated operations in 21 countries within the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. He managed multinational training initiatives with European allies, successfully planning and executing major exercises involving 18 nations and 6,000 personnel. His efforts strengthened partnerships, disrupted enemy activities, and bolstered operational readiness.
A creative problem-solver, Buck directed the Wounded Warrior Organization, leading rehabilitation and career transition programs for injured soldiers while managing a $43 million budget. His innovative strategies improved recovery outcomes and earned recognition as the Best Warrior Transition Unit for two consecutive years.
Buck holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, a Master of Public Administration from Norwich University, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit and the Combat Infantry Badge, reflecting his commitment to excellence and service.
